Crown Bay Marina Calendar Wins Advertising Award

Norita Lee, president of the Advertising Club of the Virgin Islands, has confirmed that Crown Bay Marina’s custom calendar was designated as Silver ADVI Award winner in the specialty advertising category of the club’s 20th annual ADVI Awards competition held July 21 at The Ritz-Carlton - St. Thomas.

Utilized as a marketing tool to promote St. Thomas as a yachting destination and lure boaters to Crown Bay Marina, the limited edition 14-month custom 2001 calendar made its debut at the October 2000 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show where it was hand-delivered by Carole Dudley, Director of Marina Operations, to more than 75 yachts and brokers.

Enclosed in matching custom envelopes, complimentary calendars and personalized cover letters were also hand-distributed at the Antigua Boat Show, and mailed to repeat marina guests as gifts for the 2000/2001 holiday season.

More than a year in the making under the creative supervision of Martel Public Relations, the calendar features images shot exclusively for Crown Bay Marina by Don Hebert Photography that showcases scenic seascapes, megayachts, historic tall ship sailing vessels, yacht crews, and marina facilities. The simple, yet elegant color calendar was designed by Lisa Johnson-Lawlor of Infinity + 1 Design in St. Thomas, and printed by Southeastern Printing of Stuart, Florida.

The ADVI Awards recognize work created within the previous 12 months by local artists, photographers, producers, writers and other professionals within the U.S. Virgin Islands. The ad club competition selects winners in 66 media categories.
